- Executive vice president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee
Khalil Jahshan is the executive vice president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), and a member of MIFTAH's Board of Directors. For many years, he has spoken out against what he calls Americans’ "tendency to blame ethnic groups rather than individuals for acts of terrorism."
In the months following the 9/11 attacks, Jahshan and the ADC complained that "an environment of fear and confusion" had descended upon "Arab Muslims across the country." He further asserted that there had been an increase in hate crimes committed against Arabs and Muslims in the U.S.
But as Michelle Malkin points out in a May 2003 column, this hate-crime accusation was wholly inaccurate.
