- Member of al Qaeda’s Hamburg cell
- Allegedly provided assistance to the 9/11 hijackers
A Moroccan student who moved to Germany in 1995, Abdelghani Mzoudi was a member of the infamous al Qaeda Hamburg cell that was instrumental in carrying out the 9/11 attacks. According to prosecutors, he willingly provided assistance to the 9/11 hijackers, allowing them to use his apartment as a meeting place. Mzoudi also helped the plotting hijackers by wiring money to some of them, and managing finances for others, while they trained in U.S. flight schools and Afghanistan-based terror camps.
